Netflix and Hulu Plus are services that allow you to watch TV shows and movies through your computer, TV, and other media devices.
Netflix offers unlimited movies and television shows streaming on the Internet through the Wii system, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Blu- ray players, TVs, iphone or ipad for only $7.99 a month. If you are new to Netflix, they will let you watch unlimited movies and TV shows for 1 month at no charge. Netflix customers can sign up for the 1 DVD at a time plan, which lets you get unlimited movies through the mail at a price of $7.99 a month. If you have Netflix you can cancel anytime and there are no cancelation fees. However, there are no refunds for partial months. Netflix also has no commercials or advertisements.
Like Netflix, Hulu Plus customers can watch unlimited TV shows and movies streaming online through devices such as their Televisions, iphones or ipads or video game systems (PlayStation 3 Xbox 360, and coming soon customers will be able to watch movies and TV shows on their Nintendo Wii or Nintendo 3DS). Customers only have to pay $7.99 a month to watch unlimited movies and TV shows. Hulu plus has 200 different television networks such as ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX. All shows and movies on Hulu plus are in high definition on HDTVs and the Xbox 360. Unlike Netflix, Hulu Plus has commercials and advertisements on both TV shows and movies. Hulu plus does not offer a mailing system to their customers.
As far as how TV shows and movies are being viewed, Netflix customers are using different devices, such as video game systems and Televisions rather than computers, like most Hulu users. Statistics show that 61 percent of Netflix customers watch movies on their televisions through connected devices such as Blu-ray players, and even video game systems such as the Wii and Xbox 360. 25 percent of Netflix customers watch movies on the Wii, 13 percent use the PlayStation 3, 12 percent use the Xbox 360, and 11 percent use Blu- ray. More Hulu customers use the computer rather than other devices such as video game systems and Televisions. Statistics show that 89 percent of Hulu Plus customers watch movies only through the computer. Only 10 percent of Hulu plus customers watch movies through the video game systems and Blu-ray. 3 percent of Hulu’s customers watch movies on the Wii and Playstation 3, and 2 percent of Hulu’s customers watch movies on Blu-ray and Xbox 360.
After researching Netflix and Hulu Plus on their websites, Google and blogs, I have found that more people prefer Netflix to Hulu Plus. I believe that Netflix is worth the money you spend for the service. I myself don’t like when a bunch of advertisements are being shown because it is a waste of my time. That is why I would go with Netflix as the better choice!
