In his 31st year coaching the Hills West Varsity Baseball team, history was made for Coach Tom Migliozzi, as he coached his team to a 15-0 win, earning his 450th career win.

WEDNESDAY – COMSEWOGUE HIGH SCHOOL – It was a dominating defeat for the Colts as they took on Comsewogue on the road in their second game of the season.

With Coach Migs’ game plan to pressure their opponents early, that is exactly what the Colts did, scoring 5 runs in the first inning, 3 courtesy of a Christian Rivera home run.

Rivera’s home run was not just the first home run of the season for the Colts, but their first since 2023. After a drought of the long ball during the 2024 season, the Colts hit a hat trick, leaving the park THREE TIMES in Wednesday’s game. Senior Royale Baker and Junior Ethan Saintjean added a pair of home runs for the Colts.

A stellar start by Sophomore Jack Buckley helped propel the Colts to this victory. The first year Varsity starter gave up 0 runs in 4 innings of work, striking out 2 in his time on the mound. Out of the pen for the Colts was 8th grader Charlie Cascio, who also gave up 0 runs in his 2 innings of work, racking up 4 strikeouts himself.

On the offensive side of the ball, Seniors Aman Aery, Alex Casey, and Mike Massa, along with Sophomore Christian Rivera, had multiple hits in their victory. The Senior Speedsters added a combined 6 stolen bases and 7 runs scored. In addition to this Senior Thomas Jannelli added multiple runs batted in (2), and Senior Manny Saintjean added one himself.

And with this win came history for long time Head Coach Tom Migliozzi, as he secured his 450th career win. An outstanding feat for the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, and an additional milestone to his long list of accomplishments.

Congratulations Coach Migs on your 450th win, many more to come!
