Bam Scores…83?
On March 10, 2026, Bam Adebayo had one of the greatest scoring games in NBA history. He scored 83 points for the Miami Heat in a game against the Washington Wizards. The Heat won the game 150–129 at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Adebayo’s 83 points became the second-highest number of points ever scored by one player in a single NBA game. The only player who scored more was Wilt Chamberlain, who scored 100 points in 1962. Adebayo also passed Kobe Bryant, who scored 81 points in 2006.
The game surprised many fans because Adebayo was not known for scoring extremely high numbers of points. Before this game, his career-high was only 41 points. During the game, Adebayo started very strong and scored 31 points in the first quarter. By halftime, he already had 43 points, which was already higher than his previous career record. He continued scoring in the second half and finished the game with 83 points. Adebayo made 20 out of 43 shots from the field and also made seven three-point shots. He scored many of his points from free throws, making 36 out of 43 attempts, which set a new NBA record for both free throws made and attempted in a single game. Erik Spoelstra, the Heat’s head coach, kept Adebayo in the game so he could continue scoring and reach a historic number of points.
By the end of the night, basketball fans, players, and media were amazed by what they saw. Many people called the performance one of the most shocking scoring games in modern basketball history. Adebayo’s 83-point game will likely be remembered for many years as one of the most incredible individual performances ever seen in the NBA.
