Mother’s Day gift ideas
Mother’s Day is a way to honor the sacrifices our mothers make for us. It originated from Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia, who held a memorial service for her mother and organized women’s groups in 1907. It was later declared an official holiday in 1914 by President Woodrow Wilson. Mother’s Day is arriving again this Sunday, but for some high school students, it lands in the middle of the 2 AP weeks. If you’ve forgotten about it or don’t know what to get your mom, here are a few simple suggestions.
Starting with the classic breakfast in bed is a great option; anyone would love this, but it requires some skill and time. This is probably the go-to choice for those who can cook and wake up early. However, buying flowers is also nice for those who can’t cook. Carnations are the traditional choice, but roses or tulips are also extremely popular now. Additionally, buying your mom a present, such as a necklace or a pair of earrings, also works out. If you can’t do either, a handwritten card expressing your gratitude is the simplest gift since your mom will probably be happy with anything you give them.
At the end of the day, you don’t need to get your mother a gift to express your appreciation for always caring for you. A few sentences acknowledging their hard work for you with hugs is enough.
