American Horror Story: Freakshow is the 4th season of the hit TV show, American Horror Story, on FX. The show is an anthology series, which means every season has a different story with completely new characters, though they recycle the same cast members. Some regular actors on the show include: Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts and Evan Peters. Past seasons have dealt with ghouls, aliens, witches and zombies. This year, the show takes us back to 1950s Florida for a freakshow, one of the last remaining in the U.S. This season’s tagline is “Wer sind alle freaks,” which translates to “We are all freaks.”
The show starts with conjoined twins, Bette and Dot, who are being targeted by ringleader Elsa Mars to join her freakshow. Once there, they meet other freaks – a lobster boy, a bearded lady, the world’s smallest women, the world’s tallest supermodel, a man with deformed seal-like flipper arms, a legless women, two pinheads and more! Freakshows are a failing business, but with the addition of the siamese sisters as her headlining act, Elsa hopes to save the freakshow from failure. Another plotline of the show involves a serial killer named Twisty the Clown, who stalks the members of the freakshow. Also featured are the rich socialites who want to buy one of the freaks for their own personal amusement. During this season, we can expect to see beautiful cinematography, musical numbers, and plenty of disturbing images.
