Jo Koy’s Painful Performance at the Golden Globes

Host Jo Koy didn’t know how to read the room at the 81st Golden Globes on Sunday night. The comedian’s opening monologue was met with groans and half-hearted laughter, which grew stronger as his speeches continued.
Originally, Koy was doing ok, but his comments quickly turned south as the comedian turned his attention to Barbie.
Koy states, “The key moment in Barbie is when she goes from perfect beauty to cellulite and flat feet—or what casting directors call ‘character acting.'” Koy paused for laughter but received little to no.
Koy later goes on to mock an excellent movie, the Color Purple. Koy states, “By the way, The Color Purple is also what happens to your butt when you take Ozempic.”
Once again, Koy made a joke that flew so well. Koy states, “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL — on the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift,” the host quipped.
To justify his horrible jokes, Koy states, “Yo, I got the gig ten days ago. Do you want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up. You’re kidding me, right?”
As one can tell, Koy should never be the host of a live national television event again.
