Baseball Team Suffers Second Loss of Season
The Hills West Varsity Baseball team played East Islip today for the third and final game in their three game series. The Colts had won the first two, and were looking to sweep. The Colts went up early, 1-0, and later added three more to make the score 4-1. Nic Lombardi led the offense with a 3-4 effort on the day. In the bottom of the sixth inning, though, the Redmen got a string of hits off of starting pitcher Tommy DiGiorgi, managing to score four runs and take the lead, 5-4. The Colts failed to score in their chance in the seventh, giving them their second loss of the season and moving their record to 12-2 on the season. They play West Babylon next week, a series with strong implications for the league title.
