On Wednesday, May 3rd, the Hills West Boys Track team clinched the League IV Championship for the seventh consecutive time. The team defeated the Copiague Eagles with a score of 83.5 to 57.5. Before the meet, both teams were 5-0, making the meet especially cut throat.

This meet would prove to be tough for the Colts because Copiague had a lot of talent; however, the team came out and earned their place in Hills West history. Many of the athletes had their best performances which helped them win the league title. Senior Captain Frederic Fils-Aime was among those who had their best performance with a triple jump of 43-2 with his last jump, after his opponent jumped a 42-6. “Everyone had an amazing performance and we wanted it more, it couldn’t have been a better day for Hills West track and field,” said Fils-Aime.

The team has gone through the whole season defeating every team by a large margin. When it came down to the wire, the boys performed. With the many talented athletes, the relays that were put together were able to outmatch any team in the league. “Just run fast and don’t look back. Usually the first leg puts us in the lead and its over by the third leg,” said junior Jarried Redwood.

It was certainly another unforgettable season for boys track, and hopefully their legacy and streak will continue next year.
