New Year’s resolutions started with the ancient Babylonians, who were said to have been the first to make New Year’s resolutions.

After the 1st week, 75% are successful in keeping it; after two weeks, it declines to 71%. After six months, it drops to less than half of people successfully keeping their new year’s resolutions.

There are many things that people want to achieve in the New Year, including being healthier, personal improvement, losing weight, and much more. According to junior Ashley Cook, she resolves to go to the gym and work out more to improve her endurance.

Isabella William’s resolution for 2023 is to read 100 books and get into a healthier sleep routine. With all the exams and quizzes given throughout the school week, students stay up late to study for their exams to get good grades.

Many people come up with resolutions to reach by the end of the year and hope they come true.

Many athletes graduating high school soon hope to commit to college to play a sport they are passionate about.  One goal Artie Green wants to achieve in the new year is to save for a college for baseball. Artie has had a passion for baseball since he was very young and has played baseball since he was five. He has put time, effort, and dedication into baseball and wants to pursue his dream in college. He has dreamed of playing in college since he was a little kid and hopes for it to become true.
