“YOUNG-LUV.COM” Review
As of February 21, STAYC has brought us YOUNG-LUV.COM, making this the fourth release of their career. The group was formed by HIGHUP Entertainment and was previously known as HIGHUP Girls (although they’re also known as Slayc by fans). They debuted in November 2020 with a single album titled “Stars To A Young Culture”, which is the full meaning of STAYC. It means that they are making music for teens and the newer generations. The 6 members are Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J. Sumin is the leader.
The EP contains 6 tracks. The title track is “RUN2U”, a catchy pop song. The choreography is fun to dance to and is popular on TikTok. In comparison to “RUN2U”, the rest of the album felt slower. “Same Same” has smooth vocals, making it pleasant to listen to. The ending is also pleasant because they included their signature “STAYC girls, it’s going down” there instead of in the title track. They had done that in their previous albums. “247” is a soft love song that talks about wanting to give everything and always wanting to be with their lover. It’s a feeling many people are able to relate to. “YOUNG LUV” is a side track despite being the title track. It discusses rejection when you’re in love and naive. It reminded me of failed confessions and sadness. “BUTTERFLY” has a nice instrumental portion, and the meaning is sweet. It talks about how they never thought they’d find their partner, and how their love makes life better. And lastly, “I WANT U BABY” discusses being in love and how their lover would take stars from the sky for them. It was good, but it felt a little repetitive.
It was a great record overall, you should listen to it! Definitely a 10/10. It was my favorite release from them so far, and I’m excited to listen to STAYC’s future great music!
