Give Blood Save Lives

Give Blood Save Lives

The Blood Drive is a yearly event that takes place at West for teens to begin donating blood from an early age. You need to be 16 or older in order to donate blood. There are many sweet nurses that help with the process and small snacks are usually set up by them. The New York Blood Center Blood Drive is really a great way to help others. All you had needed to do is get a paper signed by a parent if you are 16 years old. It is not needed if you are older. This event takes place from 7:30 to 2:00, so it is going on throughout the whole school day. There are many teens that may not be old enough to donate that volunteer and help the nurses. Key Club has set up a system where students can help at the Blood Drive during their off periods. Blood Drive donations can help so many people. Donated blood platelets can help those with leukemia and other severe diseases. This is one way that our small school can help the community and create a change. It really is a great program and a great donation, so the next time the blood drive happens please make sure to sign up and donate!
