Girls Gymnastic Suffers First Defeat
The Hills girls gymnastics team was handed its first loss this Tuesday by West Islip. The girls went undefeated 5-0 in non-league meets and got their first loss by a very close margin. The Hills team scored a 159.95 while West Islip won with a 160.75. The girls were leading after the first two events, but by the end of the meet they lost by eight tenths. Despite a heartbreaking loss, there were many positives to this meet. The girls improved greatly on bars and Allie Schuler scored a 9.1 on floor. The team score was also the highest the girls have had this season and they are ready to improve for the next meet this Friday. On Friday Ward Melville will be coming to Hills. Ward Melville has been undefeated for five years so it will be a hard meet but the girls are ready to take on the challenge.
