10 Things Every High-School Student Should Do This Year

As the school  year roles into its third quarter, many students at Hills West may be beginning to feel the need to explore and try new things . There are many quick, simple and easy things for students to do that can help get them through the monotony and dullness of the middle of the school year and help them become better people in general. The following are a list of ten things I recommend every Hills West Student do this year:

1. Watch a Nostalgia-Inducing Movie.

With all the stresses that high-school causes, sometimes it’s nice to look back at your life before high school. Nothing makes you feel more refreshed, relaxed, and nostalgic like a movie you used to love as a child.

2. Wear Sweatpants to School.

Sometimes, trying to look good just isn’t worth it. When you spend every day at school, in the same classes, in the same routine (especially in this weather) it’s nice to feel comfortable.

3. Visit An Old Teacher.

Old Teacher

Everyone has that one teacher that has influenced and molded you into the person you are today. If that teacher was in elementary or middle school, it’s nice to send them an email or give them a visit. Not only will you have a chance to thank them, but it also gives you an opportunity to reminisce and update them about how you’re doing. Chances are, you have also impacted them.

4. Spend a Night With Your Family.

While it’s fun to hang out with friends, you should remember that your high-school days will not last forever. Your family has been there to support you since day one and even though it may not seem like it now, you’re going to miss them when you leave home. Spend an evening with them. You’ll have more fun than you think.

5. Take Lots of Pictures.

High school doesn’t last forever, and many people say that high school is one of the best times of your life. When you go to college, it’s nice to have something tangible to use in order to remember your friends and your high school experience.

6. Sketch Your Life.

It’s good to know what you’re working towards after you graduate. While it’s not necessary to know exactly how your future will play out, it’s helpful to have an idea of what you want in life, especially during the process of choosing a college or classes.

7. Thank the People Important to You.

Soon enough, they’ll be gone and you will start separate lives. Let them know that they are important to you and that you love them before it’s too late.

8. Bake Something.

There is nothing as rewarding as food that you’ve made because you can actually taste your work. Bake something you love, and bring it into school to share with everyone!

9. Go to Bed at 9.

On a night when you have little homework, try going to bed early. You will be surprised as to how much of a difference it will make.

10. Have a Dance Party by Yourself.

I think this is self explanatory.
