Boys Soccer Fights Way Into Another League Title Match
On Friday night the Hills West Soccer team defeated West Babylon to become the league champions. West Babylon, a formidable opponent, put up a steady fight throughout the first half. During the first half, John Proctor scored the first goal, tapping in a rebound from a cross. There was a lot of back and forth in the first half, as our defense was tested at times. Throughout the second half however, the team picked up the level of play, as they played much closer to their full potential. There were many more possessions and some really close chances in the second half more so than the first half. Kevin Stanis scored two goals and would have had a hat-trick if his third shot didn’t hit off the crossbar. Ultimately, the soccer team defeated West Babylon with a score of 4-0, however this score did not truly reflect the intensity of the game. The game was exhilarating to say the least. The atmosphere was passionate as the stands got progressively louder throughout the game. To any potential fans I would suggest coming down and supporting Hills West Soccer for the playoffs, you won’t regret it!
