Colts Defeat Riverhead With Big 7th Inning
Going into the top of the seventh inning the varsity baseball Colts were in a 2-2 deadlock with Riverhead. But the momentum soon shifted to the Colts when they loaded the bases to start the inning. Then Senior Matt Cabezon walked, bringing in what would be the winning run. Freshman Owen Mcmenamy then hit a big 2-run double down the left field line on a 1-2 count, making the score 5-2. Sophomore Sean Noriega capped off the inning with sac fly, which was the last run the Colts scored. This May 3rd game also featured a great pitching performance by Senior Dylan Mouzakes, allowing 2 runs (none earned) in a complete game in which Riverhead only had two hits. The win brings the Colts up to 12-3, with only a few more games left.
