Northern Illinois Hands #24 Toledo First Loss of Season

The Northern Illinois Huskies went into Toledo to take on the undefeated and #24 ranked Toledo Rockets in what was the only Tuesday night game of the week. Toledo quickly jumped out to a 17-7 lead, but the Huskies of NIU never quit. Northern Illinois’ dual QB threat of Drew Hare and Ryan Graham combined for 277 yards and 2 touchdowns while RB Joel Bouagnon added 87 yards and 1 touchdown as well. Northern Illinois took a 32-27 lead with 3 minutes remaining in the game and secured their win with an interception of QB Phillip Ely with 10 seconds left. Northern Illinois is now bowl eligible as they improved to 6-3. Toledo fell to 7-1 and looks to improve in their upcoming game at Central Michigan next Tuesday.
