Girls Golf Earns First Win over Northport

Today, the Hills West Girls Golf team played against Northport at the Dix Hills Golf Course. With the sun shining and a slight breeze, the Colts went on to play nine gratifying holes. The starting six – Jayda Lisman, Ashley Shim, Cali Davis, Christina Chung, Jessica Barone and Tatum Ogata – won their first match of the season. One of the youngest teams in their league, the girls have struggled to defeat other teams on the course. However, with a collective total of 246 strokes, they dominated the fairway.
The girls, on average, shot in the mid to high forties, a very solid score. Sophomore Christina Chung and junior Jayda Lisman shot the lowest scores of the day with a 46 and 44 respectively. Despite having had a slow start to the season, this could be the start the girls needed to gain a little momentum for their season. The team has upcoming matches scheduled against Bayshore and Commack.
