Tobias Harris Honored After Colts Victory

Hills West Basketball has been rolling as of late. Despite a close call against North Babylon and a loss versus a very good Holy Trinity team, most teams are no match for the Colts, with their fast-paced style of play. On Thursday, they faced off against Riverhead’s team. Juniors Kian Dalyrimple and Richard Arltenord led the team with a combined 38 points. The Colts outscored Riverhead 54-20 in the first two quarters, and cruised to an easy victory. With a few minutes left, Junior Jake Willinger put in a 7-foot jump shot and layup to put the icing on the cake for the team’s win. At the conclusion of Hills West’s dominating performance over Riverhead, Coaches Mitaritonna and Dugan, as well as Athletic Director Joseph Pennacchio honored Orlando Magic player and Hills West Class of 2010 graduate Tobias Harris. Along with retiring Harris’s #12 jersey, the 2007-2008 Suffolk County Championship team was honored with a banner hanging in the gym. Mitaritonna introduced the members of the team present and then surprised Tobias with a banner and his framed jersey. Tobias then said a few words to the crowd and got emotional as he thanked his parents and expressed his gratitude for the honor. A night that started with a solid win for the Colts became a truly special occasion for Hills West as a whole. The next day, Tobias went to Madison Square Garden to play against the Knicks, his potential future team if the rumors are to be believed.
