The Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team Gets Knocked Out in the First Round

As the sixth seed in the first round of the Section XI Boys Lacrosse playoffs, the Colts played a home game against eleventh seed Northport High School. The Colts finished the season 11-5, while Northport finished 8-8. This game was a rematch of the Colts 8-5 regular season win. The deciding factor in this game was the merely three face-offs that the Colts won.

In the first quarter Northport dominated the possession time, and went up 5-0. Hills West added two goals in the second quarter, while the Tigers added another four. The Colts gave their best effort to spark a comeback, but they dug themselves in too deep. The final score was 15-3 in favor of Northport.

Cameron Mule’, Ryan Ozvath, and Justin Cerniello each contributed one goal for the Colts. This devastating loss is definitely burning a fire in the hearts of the returning varsity players. Watchout for next year’s rematch against the Colts and Tigers as it will be an intense battle.

A congratulations to Erik Mikilinech, Pat Leone, and Ray Jaghab for outstanding careers as members of the Hills West Colts Lacrosse Team. Great season and good luck to the whole team next year.
