Colts Win Again in a Commanding Victory

Coming off of a big 34-0 victory over Copiague last week, Hills West needed to continue their winning streak in their game with Centereach last Saturday. Hills West entered Saturday’s contest with 2 wins and 3 losses on the season, determined to improve their record again.

For the 2nd straight game, Hills West did not hold back in their offensive game. The scoring started in the 1st quarter with a 2 yard touchdown run by quarter back Anthony Lucarelli, and an extra point conversion by the kicker.

In the 2nd quarter it was more of the same for the Colts as they put another 14 points up on the scoreboard. Both touchdowns in the quarter were scored by Joshua Connor, one of which was a big 80 yard punt return. Neither team scored in the 3rd quarter, so Hills West entered the 4th quarter with a 21-0 lead.

In the 4th quarter it was Hills West’s passing game that truly shined. Lucarelli connected with wide receiver Jake Klose on a 90 yard touchdown pass. giving the Colts a 28-0 lead. They were not done scoring, however, as Lucarelli connected soon after for another touchdown on a 6 yard pass.

Overall, the boys continued to play extremely well in both their offense and defense. The Colts gained a total of 419 yards on the day, it was also the Colts 2nd straight game in which they shutout the opposing team. They now improve to a record of 3 wins and 3 losses on the season and hope to continue this streak in their homecoming match this Saturday.
