Girls Varsity Soccer Returns With A Vengeance and Defeats North Babylon

Earlier in the season, the girls soccer team lost to North Babylon with the close score of 2-1. This time, however, the girls came back better than ever and were able to defeat them. The Colts started off strong and within the first 15 minutes of the game junior, Gabi Costa, scored with an assist from freshman, Gianna Cokinos. The girls left the first half of the game with a score of 1-0. Within the first ten minutes of the second half, Gianna Cokinos scored a goal off a side volley. Nearly half way through the second half, North Babylon came back with a goal, leaving the score 2-1. As the intensity of the game built and only 10 minutes remained in the game, junior and captain Angelique Chaptar scored a beautiful goal. The Colts ended the game with a score of 3-1. Hopefully the girls can continue throughout the rest of their season with the same intensity and power built during today’s game.
