Strong April Start for Softball

On April 1st the softball team played their second game of the season.  After a hard first game defeat they were able to bounce back and win 12-9 against Centereach.  This strong win marked Coach Dugan’s first win as varsity head coach.

During this game,  junior Sarah Auricchio hit another 2 run homer.  The week after, the girls suffered another hard loss to West Babylon losing 2-13.  However, three days later, the team won on the road against Bellport.  The girls held Bellport scoreless winning 1-0.

April 13th the softball team hosted Deer Park at home and won a close game 3-2.  Alex Parkas hit a double to start the 7th and keep the team going.  The game was tied and till junior Julia Toscano hit a sac bunt and junior Renne Pino hit a sac fly to win the game.  The next game is at home Friday against Huntington.  The team hopes for a win to improve their record of 3-2 to 4-2.
