The Hills girls gymnastics team lost to the undefeated Ward Melville this past Friday.  The Hills team scored a 156.95 while Ward Melville won with a 172.025.  Despite the tough loss, the good team score for the girls will help their average and chances of making counties.  Ward Melville had a very strong vault lineup but the Hills team all stuck beam. Emily Chong scored a 9.175 on floor, and senior Mel Gershman returned from injury with strong routines.  The girls are now 5-2 and will be traveling to Commack on Thursday for another challenging meet.  The girls will be practicing hard in hopes of sticking beam again and improving their chances of winning against Commack, who is currently second in the standings.
