Strong Finish for Gymnastics Heading Into County’s

October 27th, a day full of excitement and accomplishments for the Girls Gymnastics team. The team finished their regular season against last year’s county champions Ward Melville. On bars Nicole Jackson and Najah Curtis both scored nines;  on beam Nicole Jackson scored a 9.3; on floor Emily Chong scored a 9.5 and senior Allie Schuler scored a 9.2 on floor. The girls won the final meet of the season 168.4 to 164.025.  Such a high scoring win made senior day very rewarding.  It is evident that the team had become a huge part of the seniors’ lives and that they would miss the team next year.

In addition to a strong final win the team qualified for team counties.  They were awarded with a 4th seed and will be competing for the third straight year at the team county championship. There are also four individuals who made individual counties.  Najah Cutris (bars), Nicole Jackson (bars, beam, vault), Emily Chong (vault, beam, floor) and Allie Schuler (floor) were all chosen to represent the team.

The team finished the regular season 4th in the county and looks to steal a Championship and bring home a trophy.
