Jets Chaos
Tuesday November 3 was a big day in the NFL, as it was the trade deadline. After 4 p.m. on Tuesday, no team is able to complete a trade. The New York Jets, after winning their first game of the season, had a big decision to make. It was never a doubt that the Jets would be sellers at the deadline, headlined by major contributors such as Quinnen WIlliams and Breece Hall.
The dominoes began to fall for the Jets when Ahmed “Sauce” Gardner was traded at 1 p.m. to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for two first round picks, one in 2026 and one in 2027, and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. Going into Tuesday, there was not much speculation that Gardner would be traded so the exchange came as a bit of a surprise to many. The other domino fell an hour later, when the Jets decided to trade Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys in exchange for a 2026 second round pick, a 2027 first round pick and defensive tackle Mazi Smith.
While the Jets did give up two of their superstars, they took a step into the future. Now having 3 first round picks in a 2027 draft that is filled to the brim with talent including: Jeremiah Smith, Ryan Williams, Arch Manning, Dylan Stewart, Dylan Raiola, and Colin Simmons. The Jets have not won a Super Bowl since 1969, when Joe Namath was their starting quarterback. After the big moves made on Tuesday, Jets fans hope that number two is on the way.
