November 8, 2024

It’s week 8, and we’re back to starters and sitters.  The waiver wire pickups should not have been as intense this week as they were last week, as injuries had either transpired from Week 7 to 8 or have dissipated.  Anyway, here are the Week 8 starters:

  • Will Fuller V – Going against a poor Lion secondary, the rookie receiver is set for a good game.  His great speed will be very useful in this game, as the deep threat may catch a few bombs when not being guarded by Darius Slay.  Despite his quarterback’s struggles, expect a solid-to-great outing for Will Fuller.
  • Jack Doyle – When Dwayne Allen is sidelined, Doyle has a history of having big weeks.  This is the case in Week 8, when the Colts take on the the Chiefs.  Look for a solid game from Doyle in this favorable matchup.
  • LeGarrette Blount – Coming off of a great week, scoring 24 points on 25 touches, Blount takes on a great Bills rush defense.  However, the Patriots always perform well against the Bills.  Look for Brady to keep the defense on their heels, allowing lanes for Blount to develop.
  • Matt Asiata – URGENT! START MATT ASIATA!! McKinnon is out this week, leaving Matt Asiata getting RB1 carries against the horrendous Bears run defense.  He has big-number potential in Week 8.

Here are the week 8 sitters:

  • Kelvin Benjamin – This is a very tough player to sit, because of his production this year.  However, he’s playing a top defense it Arizona, and hasn’t produced as of late.  Sit Kelvin Benjamin.
  • Alshon Jeffery – It’s sad, having to sit such top offensive weapons, but it’s necessary.  Jeffery hasn’t had a great game yet, and that streak will continue against the number one defense of the first 7 weeks of the NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings.
  • Theo Riddick – In his first week back from an injury that kept him sidelined the past few weeks, Riddick now goes on to play the Houston Texans, a top defense against the run.  He may be eased back into play, also limiting his touches.  If you can, try and sit Theo Riddick this week.
  • Coby Fleener – Despite solid production in recent weeks, Fleener has lacked great consistency thus far in the 2016 season.  If you can get a replacement tight end this week, start him over Fleener, as the Saint’s tight end has a difficult matchup against the Seahawks top defensive unit.

I wish you the best of luck in Week 8!
