Colts Stampede Past Deer Park, 67-58
In their second game of the season the Colts took on Deer Park in what was projected to be battle. Those predictions turned out to be wrong as it was mainly a one-sided matchup throughout the entire game. Hills West improved to 2-0 with this win, while Deer Park fell to 2-1. The Colts dominated early, going into the locker room with a 34-21 lead at halftime. But, Deer Park came out hot in the second half and outscored the Colts 18-14 in the second quarter. The Falcons cut the lead to as little as 2 in the second half, however the Colts never let up, and ended up winning the game 67-58.
Hills West senior Kian Dalyrimple recorded his second double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 rebounds while Richard Altenord (22 points) and Cameron Jordan (16 points) added to the balanced scoring attack. For the Falcons, Donnell Louissaint lead with 17 points, but it was not enough for Deer Park. A great defensive effort was given by the Colts as they held Deer Park to 10 and 11 points in the first two quarters respectively.
The Colts return to play on Monday, December 21st at a solid Bellport team as they try to improve to a perfect 3-0.
