Fantasy Football: Week 9 Projections
The bye week this week takes many big players out of lineups. With the Falcons, Lions, Packers, Bears, Titans, and Bills all having bye weeks, players like Stafford, Tate, Bell, Rodgers, Lacy, Nelson, Cobb, Marshall, Jeffery, and Forte will all be sitting on your benches.
Start ’em:
QB: C. Kaepernick- Kaep did well against the Rams in their last contest, posting 343 yards, 3 TD’s, and almost 30 fantasy points. The Rams have allowed close to a 20 FPA to QB’s this year.
RB: R. Hillman- Hillman has done a good job filling in for Ball, racking up solid fantasy points. The Pats have allowed 995 rushing yards, 9 touchdowns, and a 22 FPA (the 4th most) to RB’s this year.
WR: T. Hilton- Hilton is having a great receiving year, being a top 10 receiver in the league. In their last two home games, the Giants have allowed 50 receptions for 615 yards.
TE: A. Gates- Gates has been on fire this year, scoring 9 TD’s already. In each of their last two home games, the Dolphins have given up three touchdowns.
K: J. Tucker- Tucker has made 16 field goals in 5 career games against the Steelers. He also had 14 fantasy points when playing them earlier in the year.
DEF: Chiefs- Though the Chiefs have been a good defense, this decision is based mostly on their matchup. The Chiefs will be playing the Jets, who turn the ball over like it’s their job. The Jets have allowed defenses a 10 FPA.
Start Of The Week: A. Bradshaw- Bradshaw has been outstanding all year, exceeding fantasy owners’ expectations for him coming into this season. The Giants have allowed RB’s an average of 23 points.
Sit ’em:
QB: B. Roethlisberger- I know, Big Ben did extraordinarily last week, but he is facing a Ravens team that he has not done well against. The Ravens have held him to just one touchdown pass in 5 of their last 6 games. The Ravens have allowed a 16 FPA to QB’s this year.
RB: J. McKinnon- McKinnon has most likely secured the top spot for RB, but he will be playing a tough Redskins defense that knows how to stop the run. The Redskins have allowed a 12 FPA to RB’s this year.
WR: J. Edelman- Edelman is a good receiver, but he hasn’t gotten enough targets in the past few games. In the last two weeks, Edelman has only had 13 targets. The Broncos have allowed a 19 FPA to WR’s this year.
TE: Z. Ertz- Ertz has scored 9+ points only twice this year, and scored less than 5 four times. He will be playing the Texans, who have allowed TE’s a 6 FPA this year.
K: N. Novak- Recently, Novak hasn’t been doing well, having 25 fantasy points in 4 games. Novak also has a 6 FPA on the road.
DEF: Patriots- the Pats have more than their hands full this weekend against a dynamic Broncos offense. Though the Pats have gotten 11+ in 3 of their last 4 games, the Broncos have allowed defenses a microscopic 0.57 FPA.
Sit Of The Week: V. Jackson- Jackson has been horrendous this year, scoring 9+ only twice. The Browns have given up three touchdowns in their last three games.
