It’s no secret that our varsity football team’s record    has been extremely disappointing this year. Most losses have been blowouts, and a wide set of injuries have knocked out eleven of the usual starters, including Junior Quarterback Jake Klose, who broke his collarbone. Only the most extreme optimists had Hills West beating the number one West Islip on Saturday, October 20th.

Right out of the gate, Hills West was poised to lose. On our first offensive play, the running back fumbled 3 yds from our endzone, and West Islip soon took advantage with a touchdown. The next drive started with a bang for Hills West, as replacement quarterback Cody Clarson ran for a 75-yd run. A few plays later Carson ruined the momentum with an interception in the endzone, which was run back for a 100-yd touchdown. By the end of the 1st quarter, we were down 28-0. Fans were leaving the bleachers and heading towards the soccer game, and honestly I don’t blame them.

The final score of the game was 55-3, a game that both the team and the school would like to forget.
