Hills West Baseball Falls in County Championship

The Hills West Varsity Baseball Team was defeated by West Islip in the County Championship. Despite the high hopes from their promising season, the team had a disappointing loss to end their season.  Senior Tommy DiGiorgi started the game on the mound, getting out of several jams early.  The Colts failed to take advantage though, as their offense did not score any runs in this window of time. West Islip strung some hits together in the fourth inning, scoring two runs.  Freshman Bradley Camarda replaced DiGiorgi on the mound in the fifth, and West Islip added another run, then two more the next inning.

However, The Colts’ offense remained stagnant, and the game ended with West Islip winning, 5-0.  This crushing defeat was a disappointing end to a very promising season.  The Colts had six All-League selections this season, with Tommy DiGiorgi and Aaron Glickstein also being named All-County and DiGiorgi winning the league MVP.
